What is Reiki?
Reiki is a gentle energy-based practice that supports the body’s natural ability to heal, regulate, and restore balance. At Rising Roots Healing, Reiki is offered as a supportive, non-invasive experience that meets you exactly where you are.
Do I need to believe in Reiki for it to work?

No. Reiki does not require belief. Many people experience benefits simply by allowing themselves to rest and receive.

How does Reiki work?

Reiki works by supporting the nervous system and energetic body, helping the system shift out of stress and into a state where healing and integration can occur naturally.

What happens during a Reiki session?

You’ll lie down or sit comfortably while Reiki energy is offered through light touch or hands-off placement. Sessions are quiet, gentle, and guided by your body’s needs.

Can Reiki support trauma healing?

Reiki can be a supportive tool for trauma healing by creating a safe, non-verbal space for the body to release and integrate at its own pace. It does not replace therapy but can complement it.

What if I don’t feel anything?

That’s completely okay. Reiki works beyond what is immediately felt. Healing and regulation can still occur even if the experience feels subtle.

Can Reiki help with stress or anxiety?

Yes. Reiki supports nervous system regulation, which can help reduce stress, calm the mind, and create a greater sense of safety in the body.

Is it normal to feel emotional during or after Reiki?

Yes. Emotional release can happen as the body lets go of stored tension or stress. This may occur during the session or in the days following.

Is distance Reiki as effective as in-person?

Many people find distance Reiki to be just as effective. The experience is still guided by your body and nervous system, even from afar.

How should I prepare for a Reiki session?

Come as you are. Comfortable clothing, hydration, and an open, relaxed mindset are helpful, but nothing special is required.

What should I do after a Reiki session?

Rest, hydrate, and notice what comes up without judgment. Gentle movement, journaling, or quiet time can support integration.

How many sessions do I need?

Each person is different. Some feel supported after one session, while others benefit from ongoing care. Your body will guide what feels right.

Can Reiki be used alongside medical or therapeutic care?

Yes. Reiki is a complementary practice and can be used alongside therapy, medical treatment, or other healing modalities.
